Call for Advisory Panel - Psychologist

The International Arthrofibrosis Association (IAA) is seeking a compassionate and experienced psychologist to join our advisory panel. As a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing research, education, and support for individuals affected by arthrofibrosis, we recognize the profound impact that this condition can have on mental health and well-being.

 

About the International Arthrofibrosis Association (IAA)

The IAA is committed to fostering a global community focused on promoting better understanding and outcomes for individuals grappling with arthrofibrosis. By providing scientifically referenced information, advocating for research and education, and cultivating a supportive network, we aim to improve the lives of those impacted by this condition.

 

Role and Responsibilities

As a member of our advisory panel, psychologists will contribute their expertise in the following key areas (e.g. in the form of an interview or a post on our IAA blog):

  • Explaining the impact of arthrofibrosis on mental health, including feelings of being misunderstood, gaslighted, and lacking support from clinicians, friends and family.

  • Providing tips and tools for patients to cope with pain, disability, and the psychological challenges associated with arthrofibrosis.

  • Drafting a message to clinicians and family members on how they can better support individuals living with arthrofibrosis, including the importance of validation, empathy, and collaborative care.
     

Voluntary Commitment

Please note that the role of advisory panel member with the IAA is voluntary and unpaid. However, your contributions will be invaluable in shaping the direction of our organization and improving outcomes for individuals affected by arthrofibrosis. Advisory panel members are acknowledged on the IAA website as esteemed contributors.
