Thanks for your excellent question. I hadn’t heard anything about this so I did a quick search of the scientific literature. There is a scientific consensus that nicotine powerfully promotes fibrosis and scar tissue production in all tissues of the body, I’ll copy some of the titles of papers below. Consequently, I feel that it would be very unwise to try nicotine in any form. I was not aware of this link, it does raise an interesting issue regarding people who smoke and their risk of arthrofibrosis.
